Our agricultural activity in the citrus sector began in 2018, following a 23-year career in the banking industry. Coming from a farming family with a passion for agriculture, I decided to leave my banking career and invest in purchasing my first 46-acre farm and renting several other farms.
Since 2018, we have been part of the producers’ group of the company EUROPAC S.A.
The fertile soil of the plain, the mild climatic conditions (perhaps the least frost-prone citrus-growing region in Greece), and the quality of the water maximize the productivity of the citrus orchards and enhance the quality of the fruits, resulting in the development of exceptional citrus crops.
The fruit is medium to large in size, with an oval-spherical shape and a vibrant golden-yellow color. It peels relatively easily when fully ripe. The flesh is juicy, with a balanced ratio of acids to sugars, well-colored, sweet in taste, and rich in aroma.
Production period: March – November.
This variety closely resembles the Washington Navel (Merlin), with the main difference being that the fruit’s peel is smoother and the navel is less prominent. It also ripens about six weeks later than Merlin and can remain in marketable condition on the tree for an extended period.
It is a very notable variety, producing large-sized fruit with a peel that is easy to remove. The flesh is firm, crisp, tender, juicy, with a sweet taste and low acidity.
The fruit is medium to large in size, very attractive, with a red-orange colored peel. The quality of the fruit is exceptional. The flesh has a deep orange color, the segments are very juicy and tender, with a sweet taste and a high ratio of sugars to acids.
